Why an Orthodontist in Commack? Orthodontist vs. Dentist
An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist.
All orthodontists are dentists first, but though not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Dr. Frank continued her formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As an orthodontist, Dr. Frank has spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.
Why does it matter if you see your Commack Orthodontist?
Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.
Seeing a specialist like an orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:
- Providing more treatment options.
- Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office’s focus area of care.
- Knowing that you’ll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
- Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns
- Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.
You may think it’s easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn’t be a concern, because you will only be stopping by your Commack orthodontic offices every six to eight weeks.
Testimonials from Commack orthodontist patients
“Highly recommend! I’ve been avoiding getting Invisalign for a few years, but I’m so happy I chose to go with Dr. Dorie Frank and her awesome team to finally straighten my teeth out! Dr. Frank is so easy to talk to, runs on time with her appointments, and will squeeze you in even when she has a busy schedule. Space is bright and clean, assistants and office manager are super friendly, and never any issues with scheduling. Also fun raffles and prizes! Most importantly, I couldn’t be happier with my new smile! Thanks, Dr. Frank!!” – Jamie
“I have to say Bluebird is fantastic! The entire staff is so incredibly nice and friendly. From the moment you walk in they make you feel like a rock star. They go above and beyond with making you feel at ease. Explain everything from beginning to end and go above and beyond with what needs to be done with your insurance company to see if you can get services covered or not. They listen to what you also feel you want for your child and aren’t pushy like other places are. They are so accommodating with appointments whether it’s a regular visit or an emergency. I highly recommend Bluebird! You won’t be sorry. Even if you have a child that is nervous they will make them feel at ease. If your child needs orthodontist care this is the place to go!” – Jen
